— About the Atelier

A studio grown
quietly, deliberately.

Verdant Atelier began as a small greenhouse in San Pawl il-Baħar — a place to grow rare botanicals slowly, and to style rooms with the care of an architect.

Begun in a glasshouse, by the sea.

Founded in 2014 by horticulturist and interior stylist Lina Ferrante, Verdant Atelier was born from a simple belief: that thoughtful greenery could change the way a room feels — and the way a person inside it breathes.

What began as a private nursery has grown into a multidisciplinary studio working across the Mediterranean, designing living installations for homes, hotels, ateliers, and considered workspaces.

Three quiet principles.

Slowness

Plants take time. So do good rooms. We refuse to rush either, and we let the work mature in dialogue with the space.

Restraint

A single specimen, placed correctly, can hold an entire room. We design with editorial discipline, never abundance for its own sake.

Stewardship

Every plant we install is one we promise to know. Aftercare is not a service — it is part of the design.

How we work, step by step.

  1. Listen. A site visit, a long conversation about light, life, and intent.
  2. Compose. A bespoke proposal: species, vessels, placement, atmosphere.
  3. Install. Quiet, considered installation by our horticulturists.
  4. Tend. Ongoing care so the work matures, season after season.
